What We Lost is an instrumental record exploring grief.
It began with a simple question:
What music played when loss first entered the world?
While writing the music I realized that grief is something many of us feel but often struggle to name. Much of life teaches us to move quickly past it or distract ourselves from it. These pieces came from sitting quietly with those emotions and allowing them to unfold slowly.
The music is built around felt piano, violin, and subtle textures that leave space for reflection. Some pieces move gently and patiently. Others are simple, almost like children’s music. That simplicity is intentional. Grief touches every life in some way, and the music was written to be open and accessible to anyone who needs it.
Rather than telling a specific story, the record is meant to create a space. A place to remember, to sit with what has been lost, and perhaps to discover something tender or hopeful underneath it.
